A high school in New York is earning both praise and criticism for its decision to include, in its dress code, a ban on apparel bearing images of weapons.

Officials at the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School banned a shirt distributed by National Guard recruiters because it featured a picture with a minuteman pointing a rifle.

Administrators say the gesture had nothing to do with a lack of respect for the military, that it is about protecting the students, and that the policy was put in place long ago.

Do you agree with the school's decision?
