Fort Myers, FL (WIBX) - A student at Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers, Florida is not being allowed to attend homecoming because she has a book that is overdue from the school library.

Despite the fact that parents were informed in the school's newsletter that "students must have a zero balance for all fees and fines to participate in some special extracurricular activities or privileges," Dominique Stearns' mom, Danielle Olmstead, went to the school to complain.  The school principal told her that no exceptions would be made.

Is the punishment too harsh or do you think that the freshman should be allowed to go to her homecoming?  Comment on our Facebook page and vote in today's Question of the Day:
