Should The Utica Police Department Restore Its Facebook Page?

The Utica Police Department deactivated its once highly popular Facebook page.

Citing concerns about the way it was portraying the City of Utica, the UPD took down the page last week.  Those who thought that the page provided a portal for inappropriate and tasteless comments applauded the move.  Others pointed out the fact that the UPD's Facebook page helped the department solve more than forty felony cases.

Was it a great example of community policing or did it go too far?  And should it be restored? Comment on our Facebook page and vote in today's Question of the Day:
