The Utica Police Department deactivated its once highly popular Facebook page.

Citing concerns about the way it was portraying the City of Utica, the UPD took down the page last week.  Those who thought that the page provided a portal for inappropriate and tasteless comments applauded the move.  Others pointed out the fact that the UPD's Facebook page helped the department solve more than forty felony cases.
