Should This Lifeguard Have Been Fired?

Marcy, NY (WIBX) - A 21-year old lifeguard left his assigned post when he saw that a man was drowning.  The man that he saved remains in intensive care and the lifeguard, Tomas Lopez, was fired for venturing outside the parameters of his assigned territory for the rescue.
