Utica's Mayor says as many as fifty-five positions may be cut from the city's payroll because of a deficit that, he says, is estimated between $3.8 to $4.2 million.

Most of the cuts are projected to take place in the Public Safety and Public Works departments, with police and fire getting hit hardest.
