Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica's Stanley Theater is playing host this week to a big green ogre and all of his friends.

Shrek The Musical is the story of a swamp-dwelling ogre on a mission to reclaim the deed to his land.

The show's Production Stage Manager, Caroline Walker, says Shrek has a lot to offer, with something for everyone.

"Shrek the Musical is a very vibrant and lively musical," Walker said. "Nothing is small in this musical. Every department is large, everything is brightly colored and every song is really in your face. It's a rock-n-roll musical that tells the story of Shrek, which we've all seen on movies and such..."

Shrek The Musical is in it's second year and has been on its latest tour since September. The show  concludes its nearly 50 stop tour on April 29th.

Shrek will be at the Stanley Theater until Thursday. Tickets for the performances may be purchased at the theater, by calling the Broadway Theater League of Utica at (315) 724-7196 or online at BroadwayUtica.com/tickets.
