An early morning fire at 1409 Catherine Street in Utica has displaced six adults.

Utica Fire officials say the fire started in the attic area of a third floor apartment.  Crews were able to bring the fire under control in about 45 minutes.

Water and smoke damage was contained to the apartment and attic.

All of the occupants of the building made it out safely.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The fire victims are being assisted by the Red Cross.
