Six People Left Homeless After Pleasant Street Fire
Six people are homeless following an early Friday morning fire at 307-309 Pleasent Street in Utica.
Utica Fire officials say the fire started on the second-floor front porch and quickly spread to the attic. There were working smoke detectors in the building, which alerted the occupants to the fire.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Red Cross is assisting the fire victims.
