Snow Recovery Help is Available

Government officials are advising residents who seriously need help with snow removal and who do not have family in the region, to call the United Way’s information line at 211.

Many residents say they are unable to clear the amount of snow that has them trapped in their homes or to shovel around fire hydrants.  People can also contact their local fire department to make them aware of hydrants that have been buried by plowing operations.

Municipal officials say the public works and other crews are still working hard to clear all the streets.  Some side streets may, however still be snow covered.

Motorists are again reminded that, as they venture out, to make sure their vehicles have been cleared of snow and that their license plates, headlights and tail lights are clear of snow and visible. You can be ticketed for any of those issues.

Residents can also be ticketed for shoveling or blowing snow back into roadways.
