MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Parts of Vermont are in for a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for mixed precipitation from Monday evening through Tuesday night for central, eastern and northern Vermont.

The forecast calls for 2 to 6 inches of heavy wet snow and sleet along with some ice.

Much of the precipitation will occur Monday night into Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service says the conditions could make for hazardous driving and isolated power outages.
