What began as a fun snowmobiling adventure turned dangerous when three men on a trail off of Osceola Road in Florence apparently went over an embankment near a sharp curve just a little too fast.

Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol says the accident happened at about 11:00pm on Saturday, January 4, 2014.
One of the drivers, Jason Harris of Bridgeport, suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to Upstate medical center.  A second driver, Michael Whitehead of Syracuse, was hospitalized in Rome.  The third driver, Andrew Washburn of Taberg, was not injured and authorities say he refused medical attention.
The Sheriff's Office says the cause is still under investigation but speed appears to have been a factor.
The Florence Fire Department, New York State Police, Amcare Ambulance, and Camden Ambulance assisted sheriff's deputies on the scene.
