Utica, NY (WIBX) - Social Security offices nationwide will be closing a half an hour early starting on August 15, 2011.

The offices are currently open from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., but will change to 9 until 3:30.

The 30-minute window will give the office workers time to finish with their last customer, without accruing overtime expenses.

This change comes after Congress passed the budget for the fiscal year 1-billion dollars less than President Obama requested.
