Empire State Development along with FuzeHub held a solutions forum at SUNY IT today to match manufacturers in the Mohawk Valley region with business and technology resources within New York State. The goal of the forums is to create a stronger manufacturing sector within New York state by connecting small to medium businesses statewide to collaborate on product development and production.

Manufacturers, whether they are existing or start-ups, can use the forums to connect with other NY State businesses to overcome manufacturing and product development challenges, all while staying within New York State.

Regional Innovation Specialist Everton Henriques said he is currently working with a New York City based company that is in need of sewing and weaving. Henriques connected them with a Mohawk Valley company that specializes in sewing and weaving, preventing the NYC company from having to outsource the work overseas.

Henriques said the overall goal is to grow the New York brand while keeping jobs in the state.

The Solutions Forums are held in every major region across the state to optimize the reach of the program.
