Some Encouraging Job News
Some good news on the local job front.
The March unemployment rate in the Utica-Rome area was down slightly from last year.
According to a preliminary report released by the State Labor Department, the jobless rate last month was 9%, down from 9.3% in March of 2012.
The state's unemployment rate in March was 8.2%
Meanwhile, New York's private sector job count increased by more than 97,100 from March of 2012 to March of this year.
