Utica, NY (WIBX) - A homeless man who came from South Carolina is in custody after being arrested for attacking a woman in a bathroom at the Oneida County Office Building.

Twenty-year old Kaylon Brooks Pruitt was identified through surveillance video after allegedly entering the women's bathroom on the first floor of the County Office Building on Friday, December 28.  He is being charged with criminal trespassing, unlawful imprisonment, menacing, and harassment for going into the bathroom and forcing a woman back into a bathroom stall, holding her, and telling her not to yell.

She screamed and he ran.  With the help of employees of Oneida County Social Services the man was identified and later found at the Rescue Mission in Utica.

Pruitt provided Oneida County Sheriffs with an Orangeburg, South Carolina address, but has been living in the Utica area for several weeks.  He is now residing at the Oneida County jail on $3,500 bail.
