Special Election For Rochester-Area Seat Set For Nov. 6

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — A special election to fill an open Rochester-area congressional seat will be held the same day as the general election in November.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday officially set the Nov. 6 date for a special election to fill the 25th District seat formerly held by Democratic Rep. Louise Slaughter.

Slaughter died in March at the age of 88.

Democrat Joseph Morelle is running against Republican Dr. Jim Maxwell for the seat.
