Speed and road conditions are being blamed for a New Year's Eve accident in Rome, New York.

Oneida County Sheriffs say thirty-year-old Demetrius Gadwaw lost control of his Chevy Trailblazer while rounding a curve on Gore Road at about 7:39 Tuesday night.  The vehicle slid off the road and hit a tree.

Gadwaw was treated at the scene and brought to the hospital for additional treatment.  He was issued a traffic ticket.

Sheriff's deputies were assisted by the Lee Center Fire Department and AmCare.
