St. Elizabeth Medical Center Gets National Recognition

A local hospital is receiving some national recognition.

The American College of Surgeons is acknowledging St. Elizabeth Medical Center for excellence in surgical patient care.

St. E's is one of only 37 out of 374 hospitals that participate in the ACS's National Surgical Quality Improvement Program that has achieved meritorious outcomes for surgical patient care.

As a participant in the program, St. Elizabeth is required to track the outcomes of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures and collect data that directs patient safety and the quality of surgical care improvements.
