Standoff In Westmoreland Ends Peacefully

Westmoreland, NY (WIBX) -A nearly hour-long standoff in Westmoreland ended peacefully early this morning.

Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a home on Daily Road for a report of a suicidal man.

Deputies say the man was in the front yard of his home. armed with a handgun and threatening to harm himself

He was taken into custody without incident.

The man was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.
