The Stanley Theater in Utica is going green.

800 incandescent light bulbs at the theater are being replaced with new state-of-the-art energy efficient LED light bulbs.

Executive Director Jerry Kraus says the upgrade will help save the Stanley over 80% on monthly lighting costs.

National Grid's Energy Initiative Lighting Retrofit Program is covering 85% of the cost.

The remaining funds were donated by Stanley Board member Donna Donovan, through proceeds from her recent 'appreciation/retirement' party held at the Stanley.

The project is being handled by Green Ignite of Yorkville.
