Kirkland, NY (WIBX) - The State Comptroller's Office has released findings regarding a two-year study of the Hamilton College Sewer District's financial operations.

According to Comptroller, Thomas DiNapoli, from January 2010 through December of last year, the district overcharged customers by about $8,400. Other customers were undercharged by about $500.

DiNapoli's office also says there were no procedures in place to ensure customers are billed accurately.

To correct the problem, the Comptroller says over billed customers should be credited, while those who were undercharged be properly billed.

There should also be a master customer list made, and controlled by someone not involved in billing.
