State DEC Officer Involved in Motor Vehicle Accident
Western, NY (WIBX) -An on-duty DEC officer was involved in a motor vehicle accident Saturday afternoon, January 21, 2012, in the town of Western. According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department, Officer James Kerns was traveling on Route 46 when 16-year old Johan Larsen III pulled out in front of him.
Larsen and his four occupants were all transported to a local Hospital for evaluation, Officer Kerns was transported to a hospital in Rome for minor injuries. The 16-year old was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
