The New York State Department of Labor will be holding their first Recruitment Day in Utica on Wednesday.

It will take place from 10:00 to noon at the Working Solutions One-Stop Career Center at 207 Genesee Street.

17 businesses offering over 330 job opportunities are expected to attend.

The event is part of State Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon's statewide tour to promote local hiring.

“Recruitment events are always exciting for businesses and job seekers alike,” said Reardon. “For businesses, these events offer a unique opportunity to survey local talent, and for job seekers, they offer the face-to-face meeting that can make the difference in getting that new job they’re after. The Department of Labor is pleased to be able to facilitate these events and I look forward to a productive day in Utica!”

Reardon will also be meeting with union leadership to discuss regional issues.
