SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Residents of Broome, Chenango and Tioga counties can get into the State Fair for free to help celebrate the new Little League World Series champions.

The Maine-Endwell Little League team from the Binghamton area will be honored with a special State Fair ceremony on Thursday. Gov. Andrew Cuomo says people who can provide proof of residency in one of the three Southern Tier counties at the gate can get in for free.

Maine-Endwell beat South Korea 2-1 on Sunday to become the first New York team to win the Little League World Series since 1964.

Little League players also can get in for free if they show proof of league membership or wear their team hats or jerseys.
