State Labor Department Announces Top 5 Mohawk Valley Jobs

Nursing, auto mechanics, trucking, and accounting are the top five trending jobs in the Mohawk Valley according to the New York State Department of Labor.

Each of these career fields are expected to see larger than normal growth through the end of 2015.

Accountants and Auditors make an average of $61,690 a year with registered nurses close behind at $59,770 per year.

"Statewide, we’re seeing tremendous growth in many areas, especially in the technology and health care fields,” said Acting State Labor Commissioner Mario J. Musolino. “I highly encourage anyone looking for work or a new position to visit Governor Cuomo’s Jobs Express website and browse through the new listings that are added daily.”

• Registered Nurses ($59,770)
• Automotive Service Technicians and Mechanics ($35,960)
• Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers ($38,920)
• Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurses ($36,420)
• Accountants and Auditors ($61,690)

The State Labor department is also encouraging New Yorkers to visit the Jobs Express website that has thousands of listings sorted by region and occupation.
