Senator Joseph Griffo and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi say legislation passed in both the Senate and Assembly will help fight the heroin epidemic in the state.

Griffo and Brindsi say the package of bills will address both prevention and treatment options.

“This is a comprehensive package of legislation that ensures that people who need treatment for addiction receive the treatment and follow up support they need to continue on the road to recovery,” Brindisi said.

Lawmakers also passed measures to allow bars and restaurants to serve alcohol before noon on Sundays and approved new regulations for online daily fantasy sports games.

The 2016 legislative session came to an end early Saturday morning.
