State Legislature Passes Legislation To Protect People With Special Needs

Albany, NY (WIBX) - The Senate and Assembly have passed legislation to establish the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi says the Justice Center will create a transparent system to help prevent, investigate and prosecute cases of abuse and neglect.

Brindisi says the legislation will also establish the Protection and Advocacy Agency to help individuals with disabilities and their families obtain support services, legal assistance and respond to concerns relating to their quality of care.
