57-year old Major Philip Rougeux of Oneida has been named the 29th Commander of State Police Troop D.

Major Rougeux began his career with the New York State Police in 1986 and has served most of his career in Central New York.

He was most recently with the State Police Professional Standards Bureau covering all of Central New York.

Major Rougeux grew up in Niagara Falls, NY and is a 1982 graduate of the College of Brockport.  He is married and has two grown children.

Rougeux replaces Major Francis Coots, who retired in February.

Troop D covers seven counties, including Oneida, Herkimer and Madison.
