State Police Arrest Corrections Officer For Fraud

Marcy, NY (WIBX) - A Midstate Correctional Facility officer is facing two felony charges, after he allegedly submitted false information to the New York State Insurance Fund.

According to State Police in Marcy, 43-year-old Frank Caporale, of New York Mills, provided false information to the fund as part of a claim for payment.

Caporale allegedly stated that he was not working, when in fact, he was working at a second job. He then collected more than $10,000 worth of worker's compensation benefits.

Caporale is charged with both first degree Offering a False Instrument for Filing and Fraudulent Practices.

He has been issued a ticket to appear in the Town of Marcy Justice Court.
