State Police Investigate Fatal Car Pedestrian Accident In Lewis County

A woman was killed early Monday morning in a car-pedestrian accident on Route 12 in West Turin.

State Police say the woman, who was a passenger in a tractor-trailer that was parked along the highway across from the entrance to a gas station, began to walk across the road and into the path of a vehicle.

She was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, where she died.

The name of the victim is being with held until family members are notified.

The investigation is continuing.
