State Police Release Cause Of Fatal Vernon Fire
State Police say the cause of the house fire in Vernon that claimed the life of an eight-year old girl was accidental.
Police say the fire started in the first-floor living room where two candles were burning inside a glass jar on top of a TV. They say there's no evidence to suggest the fire was intentionally set.
Zoey Brown was found in a second-floor bedroom.
Investigators say preliminary autopsy results show she died of smoke inhalation.
Zoey's mother Andrea Brown and her five other children got out safely.
