State Police Release Names In Car/Pedestrian Accident

Kirkland, NY (WIBX) - The names of the two victims involved in a fatal car pedestrian accident on Route 12-B in Kirkland are being released.

State Police say Mark Knapp, 55, of Pleasant Street in Utica, died yesterday after being struck by a vehicle driven by Edward Gibbons, 74, of Utica Street in Utica.

Beverly Clarey, 70, of Franklin Avenue in Clinton, was also struck by Gibbons. She remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The State Police's Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Collision Reconstruction Units will continue to investigate the scene.
