State Senate Wants To Speed Up Refunds

Albany, NY (WIBX) – New York legislators are saying if you’re due money from the State they want you to get it fast.
On the same day that taxes are due, the State Senate says that tax refunds should take no more than 30 days and STAR procedures should be much easier for seniors.
Majority Leader Dean Skelos says that each day that the state holds onto a refund is another day that a taxpayer cannot use the money to meet their financial obligations or spur the economy.
The bills have been sent to the State Assembly.
