MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — About one week before a Morgantown business owner and ex-convict shot and killed four people, his stepson says Jody Lee Hunt appeared agitated and distracted.

Nineteen-year-old Tristan Bird lived with Hunt for five years while Hunt and Bird's mother were married.

Bird says that when they spoke last week, Hunt told him his girlfriend had slept with another man, and he appeared to be trying to repress intense anger. Bird says Hunt also remarked that he wasn't afraid of going back to prison.

Posting a message to Facebook as authorities hunted him down after the killings, Hunt said he wanted to see his victims punished. He said his actions were not right, but, in his words, "nor were the actions of those who tried to tear me down and take from me."
