A new poll from Quinnipiac University shows more than eight out of ten New Yorkers support medical marijuana.

Pollster Maurice Carroll also says the poll shows that 51% of New Yorkers think it should be legal to possess small amounts of pot for personal use.

Carroll says there's much more support for recreational marijuana among men and young people.

The poll found that six out of ten New Yorkers wouldn't mind having a medical marijuana dispensary in their own town.
