Frankfort, NY (WIBX) - As the nation prepares to mark Veterans Day tomorrow, students at Frankfort-Schuyler Elementary School got a head start honoring our men and women in uniform. Many gathered at the school to pay tribute to America's Veterans, including Congressman Richard Hanna. Hanna says it's important for young people to get a sense of what it means to live in America. "That their freedom and democracy and liberty that they enjoy, these people, these men and women, Veterans are responsible for that--they defend it, and I think it's important that these young people connect with that--they go home, they talk to their parents and their grandparents who may have served, and get a sense of that experience at whatever level that works for them," Hanna said. He says it's important to not take Veterans for granted.

The 20th annual Veterans Day celebration at Frankfort-Schuyler Elementary School was attended by many local officials, including Senator Seward, Assemblyman Butler, and Veterans from current and past wars.
