LOS ANGELES (AP) — Marion "Suge" Knight returns to court Friday for a bail hearing in a murder case filed against the former rap music mogul.

A Los Angeles prosecutor filed a motion Thursday asking that a judge set Knight's bail at $25 million, citing numerous threats and acts of violence dating back to the mid-1990s.

Knight has been held without bail since early February, when he was charged with murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run charges after he struck two men with his pickup truck, killing one, in a Compton, California, parking lot.

The Death Row Records co-founder has pleaded not guilty, and his attorneys have said Knight was ambushed.

The prosecution's motion accuses him of being involved in an extortion ring that has been paid more than $10 million in recent years.
