New York, NY (WIBX) - SUNY Board of Trustees has a new Chairman. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo picked former state senator and state comptroller, H. Carl McCall as his appointee to fill the seat previously held by Carl T. Hayden. McCall is not new to the SUNY system or the political arena. He has served on numerous boards, including the SUNY Board of Trustees since 2007 and currently chairs both the SUNY Finance and Administration Committee, and the State University Construction Fund. McCall also ran for governor of New York in 2002, but lost to George Pataki.

The 18-member SUNY Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the State University of New York. SUNY is the largest university system in the U.S.
