The State University of New York is announcing a new uniform sexual assault prevention policy for all SUNY campuses.

The policy, which immediately applies to all SUNY students includes key points such as establishing a uniform definition of consent, an amnesty policy to encourage reporting of incidents and statewide training for campus police and administrators.

The policy also establishes a statewide public awareness campaign, uniform confidentiality and reporting protocol for ALL SUNY campuses and uniform campus climate assessments that will gauge the prevalence of sexual assault on campuses, and test students' attitudes toward sexual abuse.

A new 'campus crime' website has also been launched to give students a resource for sexual assault prevention and response.
