Marcy, NY (WIBX) - SUNYIT is hosting "V-Week 2012" next week to benefit women's organizations and "encourage respect, love and equality for all."

V-Week begins March 26th, with a "Clothesline Project" display in the Student Center. Deb Humphrey, of the Mohawk Valley YWCA, and a domestic violence survivor will speak at the event. The "Clothesline Project" features t-shirts made by violence survivors and their friends and family to help educate people about the impact and extent of violence.

During the week, other gatherings will take place on the SUNYIT campus, including the "Heels Walk-a-thon," to benefit the YWCA, and the "No-Hate photo shoot."

"V-Week 2012" will conclude on March 30th, with a 7 p.m. performance of "Vagina Monologues," in Kunsela Lecture Hall. The performance will raise money for the YWCA and V-Day, an organization working to end violence against women and girls.

The events are all open to the public. For more information and a complete schedule, visit www.sunyit.edu/vweek.
