A Utica man was taken into custody by police on Saturday, and apparently accepted the fact that he was being handcuffed and taken away.

According to a release on the department's Facebook page, Utica Police responded to a call about a domestic incident on the 1600 block of West Street at approximately 2:24am on Saturday, August 22, 2015.

The release reads as follows:

"It is alleged that during an argument with his girlfriend, Boyer took a kitchen fork and press it against his girlfriend's throat and punched her on the left side of her face. Additionally when the victim attempted to call 911, Boyer grabbed the phone out of her hands and broke it. The struggle continued in the living room where Boyer knocked his girlfriend down on the couch and began to push her face into the couch cushions. Boyer would also grab his girlfriend by the neck and squeeze her neck as he was on top of her saying that he would kill her.

One of the children in the home ran out of the house to call the police. When police arrived Boyer said to the officer, 'Jamie stood up and said 'f%‪#‎k it, put em on me (referring to handcuffs) and let's get going. I know the drill, search me or whatever.'"

40-Year-old Jamie Lee Boyer has since been charged with the following:

  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • Harassment (second degree)
  • Criminal Mischief (fourth degree)
  • Criminal Obstruction of Breathing
  • Menacing (second degree)

Boyer will answer the charges in court at a later date.
