Utica, NY (WIBX) - A Utica man earned himself another stint in jail after he allegedly attempted to hit another man with a brick during an argument. Utica police officials say they were called to a residence on James Street yesterday around 4:20 p.m., to respond to the report of an argument in progress.

The victim told police that the suspect, who was arrested later that night on Howard Avenue, tried to hit him with a brick after they argued. Police say they subsequently charged 20-year-old Jasmin Rizvic with Second Degree Menacing and Criminal Possession of a Weapon, both are Misdemeanor offenses.

Last year on March 12, Rizvic lead New York State Police on a high speed chase at over 100 mph while attempting to flee East on I-790. His previous brush with the law earned him the following charges:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 7th Degree
  • Unlawful Possession of Marijuana
  • Reckless Endangerment, 2nd Degree
  • Unlawful Fleeing from a Police Officer, 3rd Degree

Law enforcement officials say Rizvic was also charged with multiple traffic offenses including reckless driving, switched license plates, operating with no insurance, operating while his license was revoked, operating an unregistered vehicle, and numerous speeding and moving violations. Rizvic's 16-year-old passenger at the time, Bianca M. Oliveri of Frankfort was also taken to jail and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.

Rizvic will answer the new charges at a later date in Utica City Court.
