A suspect in an armed robbery and reported shooting incident on the West Side of Binghamton November 18 is in custody.

City Police arrested 27 year old Julio Belcher-Cumba in the afternoon in connection with the theft of a hoverboard and cash at around 2:30 a.m. at Maine and Chapin Streets.

Authorities say they believe around four shots were fired at the victim but there were no reports of injuries.

Police say they found Belcher-Cumba in possession of a loaded .32 caliber pistol when they took him into custody.

He’s being charged with felony robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
