ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Police have charged a man in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a western New York high school teacher.

Rochester police say 27-year-old Jon Jamberdino turned himself in Sunday. The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle reports Jamberdino will be arraigned Monday.

Police say he left the scene after hitting 38-year-old Jill Skivington Jackett with his car while she was jogging the morning of Nov. 30. She was rushed to an area hospital where she died from her injuries.

Jamberdino is charged with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death.

Wheatland-Chili High School says Skivington Jackett taught English at the school for a decade, alongside coaching cross-country and directing school musicals.
