Suspect in Utica Larcenies Arrested After Police Pursuit

A St. Johnsville woman who is a suspect in at least two convenience store larcenies in Utica was arrested following a vehicle pursuit involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

Utica Police have charged 31-year old Carrie Mathis with unlawfully fleeing a police officer, petty larceny and numerous vehicle and traffic violations.

Police say officers tried to stop Mathis at the intersection of Oriskany Street and Broadway in Utica but she failed to comply and was ultimately taken into custody in Vernon.

Mathis also has outstanding warrants out of New Hartford and Herkimer.
