ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say they're looking for a suspect who shot and killed a person in the parking lot of a central New York Wal-Mart and fled from police.

Officials tell Time Warner Cable News (http://bit.ly/2hnXp04 ) the shooting occurred early Thursday morning outside the Wal-Mart on Fairgrounds Memorial Parkway in Ithaca.

While investigating the shooting, police spotted a car on Route 366 that matched the description of the vehicle that fled the store's parking lot. Officers attempted to pull the car over but the driver kept driving before pulling into a driveway.

The suspect then exited the vehicle and fired a shot at police before running away.

Police are still searching for the suspect.

No other details of the parking lot shooting have been released.
