A suspected methamphetamine lab in Utica is no more.

A search warrant was executed for 50-year old Anthony Palladino who was wanted by Otsego County.  When police got inside his Elm Street home they found a smoking cooler allegedly used for cooking meth and officers began to feel a burning sensation in their throats and lungs.

U.S. Marshals and the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response team (CCSERT), and the Utica Fire Department are assisting Utica Police to investigate and clean up 50 Elm Street.  Police say once the scene has been decontaminated there should not be public health concerns.

Palladino has been turned over to Otsego County law enforcement.  Charges relating to the methamphetamine are pending further police investigation.
