Suspicious Package Delivered to Home in Westmoreland Deemed Safe
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a residence in Westmoreland Wednesday for a report of a suspicious package delivery.
The New York State Police CCSERT Team also responded to the Skinner Road address to test an unknown substance discovered inside the package.
It was ultimately determined the substance was soap that must have been accidentally placed in the package during shipping.
After the CCSERT team deemed the package safe, Oneida County Deputies cleared the scene and the case is now considered closed.
