Sylvan Beach Man Charged With Rape

An investigation into an alleged sexual assault that happened earlier this month in the Town of Verona has led to the arrest of a Sylvan Beach man.

Investigators with the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center have charged 22-year old Jon Owens with rape.

The case will be referred to the District Attorney’s Office for Grand Jury consideration.

The victim has been offered counseling services through the Advocacy Center.
