If you are looking for a job in Central New York you may want to head to Syracuse on Thursday.

Interviews are expected to take place for approximately five thousand job openings.

In a written release Governor Andrew Cuomo says it is one of the largest career fairs the State of New York has ever organized in the area.  He says, "We have a large number of companies looking to hire and expand right here in Central New York.”

The event will take place at The Oncenter on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

The job fair will be held at:

The Oncenter: 800 South State Street   Syracuse, New York 13202-3017

The event will also feature a "resource room" for job seekers to complete online applications.

The New York State Department of Labor is making staff available prior to the expo to work one-on-one with those looking for employment to ensure that their resumes are fully developed.  In-person assistance can be found at the following locations today, Monday, November 2, 2015:

  • YWCA (401 Douglas Street, Syracuse) 10:00am to 12:00noon
  • Jobs Plus (Suite 201, 677 South Salina Street, Syracuse) 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Space is limited so those who wish to attend are encouraged to register online at: www.labor.ny.gov/SyracuseExpo.

Many interviews will take place at the expo, so job seekers are expected to dress appropriately.
